Let’s make a
meaningful difference

Welcome to
AW Freedom Fund

To understand our vision and our mission you should first know the thinking behind our logo…

First of all notice how the Triangle, Circle and Bar are intertwined, linked and dependent on each other. Then understand that the combined symbol is made up of two ancient alchemy symbols, first the earth symbol.. Not just the planet earth but the actual earth beneath our feet. The earth that gives forth life as plants grow. It symbolises prosperity, fertility, groundedness & creativity.

Earth that supports and sustains us but must be nurtured and cared for hence.
The circle is symbolic of care and harmony ..
From the earliest of times, the circle has been a symbol of care, harmony and completeness. An unbroken and never ending circle symbolises a commitment of love that is also never ending.

So at Ancient Wisdom we always instinctively felt that our mission is to complete the circle whilst caring for the earth. Hence combining these most ancient elemental symbols. The triangle in the symbol also means the three way link between Artisans - Retailers - Customers - with that circle making it happen.

The family businesses in India or Indonesia that make beautiful things, the family businesses that do the important task of retailing and connecting with the actual family that is giving a gift as an act of love (symbolised by the circle). The bar across represents the supply line from the hands of artisan to the homes and hearts of your customers.  We are intertwined, linked and dependent on each other. And we are responsible for those who are not fortunate enough to help and support them on this earth whenever and wherever we can.

So you our friends are part of, actually at the heart of, the mission of Ancient Wisdom. Welcome to our world and our AW Freedom Fund.

Mission Serampore

The Ancient Wisdom Freedom Fund, mission in Serampore, Kolkata is going good. Our latest initiative to start teaching the children English is off to a good start, with almost full attendance and very rapid learning skills. We‘ve adopted a small Indian orphanage in 2014.. with the help of Mr Chatterjee our Indian agent. He has worked tirelessly to make a difference to these kids.

Housing Renovation

Where do these homeless children come from? Well for any number of reasons they end up on the streets, and can fall into the hands of the beggar gangs. From here to tapping on taxi windows in Delhi is not a long journey. The local police when they find a homeless child bring them here. Mr & Mrs Kundu take them in and care for them like their own children. There is zero government support, but local business people make donations of money or food to help. From the AW Freedom Fund we paid for a house renovation including a new roof. This time we fitted a decent kitchen.

20 Years later…

Now Mr Kundu has 28 children, twelve years ago when we started the youngest is now the oldest, many have been taught English and moved on to work and others have come and joined the home.  The kid who was little came top in his class for years, he has become like a son and righthand man to Mr Kundu helping to run the home. Recently he got a good job in a bank and gives most of his salary to the home. It's always an emotional experience to visit.

Thank you for supporting this initiative by buying and selling products from the Freedom Fund.
